I’m one of those high-achieving, organized, analytical types. And whether those types annoy you or are you, these traits served me well over two+ decades as an investment executive.

But there was this whole other side of me I rarely spoke about…

• Being raised by a single mom who began college when I was in grade school

• My love of creative writing and sharing the untold story (I considered pursuing journalism but instead studied math)

• Traveling to off-the-grid locales in my 20s simply because it was cheaper than Hawaii or Paris (and continuing when I learned how little I knew of the world)

By my mid-40s, I had the success I had always dreamed about—education, family, career. Check, check, check!

But sometimes, it felt like leading a double life.

I left my lucrative job and redefined what success meant to me. I thought about what I want to be known for—my impact—and how to invest my gifts towards it. I jumped into curiosity and action mode.

I’ve been here ever since—Connecting. Learning. Traveling. Writing. Advocating. Finding new impactful ways to invest my money.
